Octolap · Your information
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
Octolap is published by Abdubek Zholay. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Octolap app or this website.
Your privacy, at a glance
- Your training profile, plan, workout records and benchmarks are stored on your device. Octolap does not send these records to a training-data server.
- No Octolap account is required. The app does not access HealthKit, GPS, contacts or an advertising identifier.
- Apple handles App Store payments. RevenueCat helps validate purchases and manage subscription access.
- This website has no sign-up form, advertising, analytics script or nonessential cookies.
Training information on your device
The app stores the information you enter or create: your age group, race division and date, running experience, equipment, goals, training availability, plan, workout timing and effort ratings, and benchmark or simulation results. These records support your plan and progress estimates.
These records remain in the app’s local storage. They are not available to us through a user account. Device or operating-system backups may include app data according to your own backup settings. There is no Octolap cloud sync or guaranteed backup service.
Subscriptions and RevenueCat
Apple processes your purchases and payment details under its own policies. We do not receive your full payment-card details or Apple Account password.
Octolap uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access and determine whether Octolap Pro is active. RevenueCat processes an automatically generated app user identifier, purchase and receipt information, subscription status and related technical information such as platform, app version and locale. We do not set a personal account ID or send training records or customer contact attributes to RevenueCat.
We use this information for subscription functionality, fraud prevention and subscription reporting. Our RevenueCat configuration is limited to subscriptions; we do not enable advertising attribution or additional analytics integrations. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Permissions and reminders
If you enable workout reminders, Octolap asks for notification permission and schedules reminders locally on your device. We do not send a push token to our own server. You can change reminders in the app or turn off notification permission in your device settings.
The app does not request access to your location, microphone, camera, contacts or HealthKit data.
Website visits and support messages
Cloudflare serves this website and may process request information, including IP address, requested URL, browser information and timestamps, to deliver pages, maintain security and operate its network. This is separate from your app’s local training records. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message or attachments. We use that information to answer your request and resolve support issues. Email is processed by our email provider, Google. Please avoid sending passwords, full payment information or unnecessary health details.
Why information is used
We use information only to provide training features on your device, administer subscription access, respond to support and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.
Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, subscription administration and requested support serve our contract with you; security and service administration serve our legitimate interests; and records required by law are retained for those obligations. Optional notification permission is under your control and can be withdrawn in device settings. Any rights or protections granted by applicable law remain in place.
Service providers and international processing
Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare and our email provider process the information needed for their respective roles. Training records are not shared with these providers by Octolap. Providers may process information outside your country under their applicable terms and data-protection arrangements. We use providers for the purposes described here, subject to their contractual and legal data-protection obligations.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to respond to a lawful request or to protect users and the service from fraud or abuse. We do not authorize use of your training data for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Local training records remain until you reset the app’s local data or remove its stored data. In Octolap, open Settings → Reset local data and confirm. Deleting the app generally removes its local records, but operating-system backups may retain copies; manage those through your device or backup provider.
Resetting local data or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription or delete Apple or RevenueCat purchase records. Subscription records may be retained as needed to validate access, restore purchases, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. To request deletion of information held by us or processed for us, contact zholay.abdubek@gmail.com. We will assess the request and explain any records that must be retained. We cannot remove records Apple must keep independently.
Support correspondence is kept while needed to handle the issue and related legal or security obligations. Do not send information you do not want included in a support record.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact zholay.abdubek@gmail.com to make a request. We may ask for limited information to verify that the request concerns your records.
We cannot remotely retrieve your device-only training records. You control those through the app and your device. You can cancel subscription renewal in Apple Account settings; cancellation is distinct from a privacy or deletion request.
Adults and children
Octolap is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not designed for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact zholay.abdubek@gmail.com so we can investigate and address it.
Security and changes to this policy
We limit our processing to the purposes described above and rely on the security controls of our service providers. Protect your device and backups; no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
We will update this policy when the product or its data practices change and update the date above. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention where required. This policy describes the current app, not possible future sync, advertising or analytics features.
